Awkward Family Sleepwear Pattern Rant

Is it just me, or is looking through the sleepwear section in pattern catalogs the funniest thing ever? Apparently, it's easiest to make unisex patterns in various sizes and label it as being "family sleepwear". I understand the need to economize and makes things easier for everyone. What I don't understand (but heartily enjoy) is the fact that nearly every family sleepwear pattern has pictures awkwarder than any family picture ever taken.

Allow me to demonstrate.

I feel like no commentary is necessary to communicate the awkwardness. The pictures can speak quite well enough for themselves.

So, maybe if there was a family and not just a couple in the picture, it might be less awkward, right?

WRONG. Look at their expressions. The poses. Why. Do they even know each other?

...judging from the kid's expression, I'm guessing no.

Now for a different kind of family. Couple with dog.

Because family sleepwear had to include the dog, right? Let's not forget to mention the fact that her sleepwear appears to be a print with dogs very similar to the one pictured, or that the "dad" is wearing the same color as the dog. So matchy-matchy.

But the best is yet to come.

FLEECE JUMPSUITS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. The awkwardest part isn't even the little girl who's clearly afraid to sit on the couch next to her "parents". Nope.

It's the dog.

You know, at least the humans are being paid. What does he get? Nothing. Look at his face.

Don't get me wrong, I've used family sleepwear patterns before and they work quite nicely. But the covers are just priceless. It doesn't get much better than this, folks.

What was the awkwardest one? Comment!
